Application

Students interested in transferring to Notre Dame must complete the Common Application (and the Notre Dame Supplement) at www.commonapp.org. It’s quick, easy, and secure. We recommend making a copy of your completed application materials for your own records.

Deadlines:

Spring Semester:  November 1

Fall Semester:  April 15

Checklist of required materials:

  • Common Application
  • Notre Dame Supplement to the Common Application
  • College Transcript(s)
  • College Official's Report
  • High School Transcript
  • Standardized Test Scores and Advanced Placement Scores (these may be listed on the High School transcript)
  • Course Descriptions (Science and Engineering students must submit syllabi for all science and engineering courses)
  • $65 Application Fee
  • An unofficial Grade Report for the current term should be emailed to transfer@nd.edu as soon as it is available, typically the week after final exams.  Please be aware that a decision cannot be made without final grades from your most recent semester.  An official transcript including final grades for courses in progress must be sent as soon as it is available.

The Notre Dame Supplement to the Common Application

You must submit the Notre Dame Supplement at the same time as the Common Application’s Transfer Application; this form is available to registered users of Common App Online. After logging in to Common App Online, select University of Notre Dame from the “My Colleges” list. The online Notre Dame Supplement to the Common Application will then be available in your “Supplements” tab.

College Official's Report

It is your responsibility to have a college official's report filled out by the dean of students, registrar, or other college official who can attest to your academic and social good standing at that institution. Failure to receive this completed report may delay completion of your application.

Engineering Applicants

If you are applying as an Engineering major to one of our special 3-2 or 4-1 programs, please complete this Application for our 3-2 and 4-1 Engineering Programs.  Otherwise, please proceed with the Common Application.

Please note that due to enrollment limitations, Notre Dame does not accept transfer applications for the Mendoza College of Business and we do not anticipate a change to this policy in the foreseeable future. If your goal is an undergraduate degree in business, you should not apply to Notre Dame.  Additionally, the College of Science is not accepting transfer students into the Science-Business major, Chemistry-Business major, Mathematics-Business concentration or the Actuary minor.
