Those are just a few of the possibilities when you apply to our Pre-College summer programs. Notre Dame offers five on-campus or study abroad experiences to qualified rising high school juniors and seniors. There’s a breakdown of each program below, along with links to apply and upcoming application deadlines. Let’s make this a summer you’ll never forget.
Summer Scholars
Looking for a taste of college life? Look no further. Our Summer Scholars program offers students two intense weeks of study under Notre Dame faculty. Participants can choose from 20 courses of study on a wide variety of topics from astronomy to life sciences to international relations. As a Summer Scholar you’ll also live on campus, eat in the dining hall, and become part of our campus community. Applications are due February 6, 2017. Apply.
Leadership Seminars
In our Leadership Seminars, rising high school seniors explore topics of global importance while studying under Notre Dame faculty. Topics include: American Arts, Popular Culture, and Social Change; Global Issues: Towards a Just Peace; and Science, Ethics, and Responsibility. The focus is on an exchange of ideas as you learn to develop your own conclusions and hone your ability to think critically and express your ideas. You’ll also live on campus for 10 days, eat in a Notre Dame dining hall, and experience all campus life has to offer. Applications are due January 30, 2017. Apply.
Study Abroad: Ireland
Explore the rich history and culture of Ireland with Notre Dame faculty and local scholars. Rising high school seniors embark on a 12-day tour of bustling Dublin and pastoral Connemara, traveling to sites in the east and west of Ireland. Seminars are taught at the Keough-Naughton Notre Dame Center in Dublin and the historic castle of Kylemore Abbey. Applications are due January 30, 2017. Apply.
Study Abroad: Rome
Join Notre Dame faculty for a 12-day Rome experience open to rising high school seniors. You’ll visit historical sites, including the Colosseum, as well as Notre Dame’s Rome Global Gateway, where you’ll learn about the history, architecture, and art of the Eternal City. Seminary Immersion Experience
Are you discerning a vocation to the priesthood? Take part in this two-week academic course designed for high school men who are considering this path. You’ll live in Old College, the undergraduate seminary for the Congregation of the Holy Cross on Notre Dame’s campus. Programming is designed to help you understand this vocation better, both from an academic standpoint and from an experience of seminary life. Applications are due February 27, 2017. Apply.
