What do we do if our 2012 tax returns will not be available by the IDOC deadline?

Submit your complete IDOC packet once your 2012 tax returns are available (please do not submit 2011 tax returns to IDOC or to the Office of Financial Aid). Please note that you may receive periodic reminders from the College Board until the requested documents have been submitted.

Are there any consequences for returning the required information after the priority deadline?

Documents submitted after the priority deadline will not negatively impact the amount of aid you will receive, but we will not be able to complete a financial aid decision until we receive all requested documents.

Please return the document unsigned as you cannot sign the form on your student’s behalf. We will contact the student, if necessary, to request that the document be signed.

Can we send a partial mailing of the required IDOC materials now and return the rest of the information at a later date?

It is important that you return the requested information to IDOC as a complete package and not in separate mailings. If information from the noncustodial parent is required, that information may be submitted separately with a duplicate IDOC Cover Sheet.

The confidentiality of your information is very important to our office and to the College Board. The College Board has implemented systems that include multiple firewalls with unique security zones, data encryption, intrusion detection systems, data and system backups, and data integrity checks. Your information will be stored in a secure environment. The paper copies of your documents will be destroyed at the end of the processing year.
