Welcome to your new home.

The Office of Housing seeks to find a space in our residence halls for every students who wishes to live on campus. Because of the overwhelming popularity of living on campus—more than 80 percent of Notre Dame students live in the residence halls—we’re not always able to find space to house transfer students on-campus prior to their first semester.

If you wish to live on campus, after you’re admitted and submit your official confirmation of intention to enroll, you can apply for housing online. You’ll be added to a waiting list, information for which may be obtained from the Office of Housing. Transfer students are notified of their status in the Housing waiting list in mid-July, and housing assignments are made on a rolling basis thereafter. All students interested in living on campus are encouraged to apply for on campus housing. There is plenty of off campus housing in the area that can be obtained just prior to start of the academic year if on campus housing is not available come August. The Office of Housing moves as quickly as possible in all matters and will communicate directly with the students regarding their housing application status.

If necessary, off-campus housing, some adjacent to campus, will place you close to the heart of Notre Dame. For more information about off campus housing, please visit the Off Campus Connector.
