Sacred
From the soaring vaults of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart to the quiet cove of the Grotto, from six in the morning until the middle of the night, the University of Notre Dame provides sacred time and space for worship, prayer, and reflection. Every week, a variety of interfaith and other religious services are celebrated in addition to over one-hundred Catholic Masses offered on campus.
Catholic
In the ==Basilica== of the Sacred Heart, Mass is said twice daily and three times on Sunday. The presence of a ==chapel in every residence hall== visibly demonstrates the importance of spirituality to community life here. Not only are chapels convenient for those students who choose to attend Mass, but their location contributes to the formation of the tight-knit community unique to Notre Dame residence halls.
Diverse
Whether members of the Notre Dame community are moving to the beat of the Gospel Choir, lighting a candle at the grotto, meditating in a yoga class, or receiving Communion at Mass, they are exuberantly expressing their sense of connection with the divine. We love belonging to a community that not only allows such expression, but celebrates it with enthusiasm.
