GENERAL INFORMATION
A student who has discontinued study in a degree-seeking program at Notre Dame may be eligible for readmission to the University. To be readmitted, a student must be approved by all of the following offices:- The college to which the student applies
- The Office of Student Affairs
- The Office of Student Accounts
If you left the University for academic reasons, you may have to fulfill specific academic requirements at another institution before being considered for readmission to Notre Dame. In many cases these courses need to be pre-approved in order to be considered. You will want to contact the advisor you worked with before leaving the University. If you are unsure of who to contact, please refer to the list below. You should apply to the College where you intend to major, as long as you are in good academic standing. If you are on probation/dismissal status, you must reapply to the College which dismissed you. In order to transfer between colleges, you will need to be in good academic standing.

No former Notre Dame student with an outstanding student account balance will be considered for readmission until the account has been satisfied in full. Contact the Student Accounts Office to inquire about any balance or payment procedures: (574) 631-7113 or e-mail: stdacct.1@nd.edu.
NOTE: A student on an official leave of absence form the University does not need to apply for readmission.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
The applicant must submit to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions a completed application and an official transcript along with catalog course descriptions from each college attended (if any) since leaving Notre Dame.

Application materials and transcripts should be sent to the Readmission Committee at the address listed at the top of this page.
DEADLINES
Applications for fall semester readmission must be completed by April 15. Applications for the spring semester are due by November 1. If you left the University for health reasons, you should apply by October 15 for the spring semester. Fall-semester applicants will be notified of the Readmission Committee’s decision between June 1 and July 1. Spring-semester applicants usually will be notified between December 1 and January 15. Please note that notification dates are subject to extensions at the Committee’s discretion.
COSTS OF ATTENDANCE
The average 2007–2008 Notre Dame undergraduate student expense budget includes:

Actual costs vary based on housing accommodations (Please note that on-campus housing is not guaranteed to
readmitted students.), travel costs, and personal expenses. Annual increases in the cost of a Notre Dame education are anticipated.
FINANCIAL AID
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE serve as the official applications for need-based financial aid at the University of Notre Dame. For priority financial aid consideration, both applications should be submitted by March 31. (Please note that some state programs may have an earlier deadline.) The FAFSA is available at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. Notre Dame’s Federal School Code is 001840. The PROFILE is available at http://www.collegeboard.com. Notre Dame’s CSS code number is 1841. In addition to filing the FAFSA and PROFILE, applicants must also submit, directly to the Office of Financial Aid, signed copies of parents’ and student’s federal tax returns and W-2 forms. Financial aid is awarded based on demonstrated financial need. Students must also meet US citizenship/permanent residency requirements along with enrolling in a degree-seeking program on at least a half-time basis. HOUSING
The availability of on-campus housing is not guaranteed to readmitted students. The Office of Student Residences maintains a waiting list for readmitted students who desire to live on campus. Students may place their names on the waiting list only after readmission to the University and submission of the confirmation deposit.
