What is your favorite campus tradition?

My favorite campus tradition is the snowball fight in south quad at midnight after the first snowfall.

What is your favorite spot on campus?

I love spending time at the Grotto, especially at night.    

What is your best Notre Dame memory?

My best Notre Dame memory is being lifted 14 times in the stadium for touchdown pushups in the stadium.

What is your favorite Dining Hall Meal?

My favorite dining hall meal is Amy’s signature Garlic Herb Pizza (Only found at South Dining Hall!)

What is your favorite thing about dorm life?

My favorite thing about dorm life is being part of a super close community that has members from all classes, majors and locations.

What clubs/activities are you involved in?

I am a chairperson of the Notre Dame Sailing Team and an international Ambassador.

What made you choose Notre Dame?

I choose to attend Notre Dame because I loved all the special characteristics, big and small, that make Notre Dame what it is. I really wanted, for example, to be part of tight community like the ones in residence halls here. Another important characteristic to me was Notre Dame’s catholic identity. I really value Notre Dame’s holy cross ideal of acquiring knowledge with the purpose of contributing to the world.

What is your favorite part about being an international student at Notre Dame?

My favorite part about being an international student at Notre Dame is that everyone here is always very welcoming and excited to get to know me and my culture.

How did you adjust to life on campus?

Trial and error was a big part of adjusting to life here. I tried very elaborate schedules, flexible schedules, waking up and eating at different times etc. In the end I feel that I found the right rhythm for me.

How do you celebrate your culture/heritage at ND?

I love cooking so sometimes I get invite my friends over and cook them traditional Brazilian food. It is very relaxing for me and is also a great way to socialize.

What advice do you have for international students?

My biggest advice is just get out of your room and explore everything that Notre Dame offers. Get to know your section, go to events, join clubs! These are great ways to get to know people and make friends.
