Senior Week Celebration: Seniors Enjoy a Last Week with Friends as Notre Dame Students

Author: Shannon Rooney

A commencement ball, DomerFest 2.0, and a trip to Chicago’s Wrigley Field—this is how Notre Dame seniors celebrate the week after finals and the week before graduation. Before they say their goodbyes to the friends they’ve made and the campus they love, seniors will enjoy a week-long last hurrah.

DomerFest 2.0 is a special throwback event scheduled for Tuesday evening. Part of Welcome Weekend for freshman, DomerFest is a carnival-atmosphere evening event, where students have the chance to win prizes, sample great food truck treats, and play games with new classmates. This week’s senior DomerFest 2.0 will harken back to freshman orientation—or Frosh-O, as we say here—event with the added fun of already knowing your classmates.Prep for Notre Dame’s Senior Week has been ongoing, with organizers planning events solely for the 2016 graduating class. Sarah Price ’16, who will graduate Sunday with a degree in Information Technology Management, took a lead role. “Being this year's Senior Week Chair gave me the incredible experience of being able to work with every Senior Week event. The committee worked so hard on each of the events, and we cannot wait to experience the Week now for ourselves! It's going to be a blast!”

Events include the traditional commencement ball and a Chicago Cubs game. Beginning with a class Mass, the week ends with a final trip to the Grotto. It’s a last opportunity for seniors to bask in the Notre Dame spirit as students and prepare for graduation Sunday.
