Pre-College Programs

Have you made your summer plans?

Notre Dame’s Pre-College Programs have just added two brand new Summer Scholars courses and applications are currently open. You could spend two weeks on campus in one of 22 exciting tracks, including our two newest: Accounting in a Global Society and Marketing for the Common Good.

As a Summer Scholar you’ll stay on campus in one of Notre Dame’s 30 single-sex residence halls. You’ll meet other students from all over the country and take classes taught by Notre Dame professors. At the end of your program, you will have earned a college credit and had a real taste of college life at a prestigious university.

The Language of Business: Accounting in a Global Society

From Wall Street to Main Street, accounting shapes and informs all aspects of life. The Summer Scholars accounting course introduces students to fundamental accounting concepts and processes in addition to the important roles that CPAs (certified public accountants) play with every type of organization, from the local flower shop to the multi-national pharmaceutical company. Marketing and the Common Good

One of the fundamental tasks of a business is to understand the needs of its customers and create products and services that will satisfy those customers. Some firms uncover the needs of its customers through marketing research (e.g., Kellogg) while others create new products based on their vision (e.g., Apple). At its core, marketing deals with activities and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for its customers. In this course students explore how firms implement marketing strategies to retain customers and they learn how marketing can be used for the common good. Learn more.

Summer Scholars applications are due February 19. Apply here.
