Ahana Sood

What is your favorite campus tradition? drummers' circle

What is your favorite thing about dorm life? The ability to easily get involved in a smaller community. I also enjoy playing intramural sports for my dorm.

What made you choose Notre Dame? I was really interested in pursuing business, and ND was known for Mendoza.

What is your favorite part about being an international student at Notre Dame? I not only get to spread awareness about my culture, but also get to interact with people from different parts of the world and learn from them.

How did you adjust to life on campus? The more I interacted with different people, the more I learnt about the kind of people I want around me. Eventually, I found my group of friends, but I also ended up having an external friend group.

How do you celebrate your culture/heritage at ND? Through events organized by the Indian association such as Holi. I also take my friends to such events so they get to know more about my culture.

What advice do you have for international students?  Just be honest in your applications and be open to different experiences once you're at ND. Just talking to new people goes a long way. Please feel free to contact me if you want to know about anything related to the Notre Dame experience at asood1@nd.edu.
