What is your favorite campus tradition? Singing the Alma Mater after football games and at mass
What is your favorite spot on campus? The grotto
What is your favorite Dining Hall meal? Chicken poppers
What is your favorite thing about dorm life? It feels like a sleepover everyday! We get to meet people from different majors, countries, and states.
What clubs/activities are you involved in? Notre Dame Club of Brazil, EduClub and International Admissions
What made you choose Notre Dame? The community. The community at ND was like no other community at any other university I visited. People here care about you, they want to see you succeed and I felt like I wouldn't be just one more student, I felt like I would be part of a family.
What is your favorite part about being an international student at Notre Dame? I get to share a bit of my culture with others. I’m proud to be Brazilian and I love meeting people that are also proud to be where they are from. Learning about different cultures fascinates me and I also really enjoy learning words/phrases in different languages.
How did you adjust to life on campus? Adjusting to life on campus wasn’t hard. Having gone to HISE really helped since I had made friends during the trip. I will always be thankful for the Latino community for being so welcoming and attentive when I arrived. The Latino community is one of the big reasons why I feel at home even being so far away.
How do you celebrate your culture/heritage at ND? The Notre Dame Club of Brazil always tries to put together events in order for us, Brazilians, to get together.
What advice do you have for international students? The international community at ND is special, take advantage of it, and meet people from different countries that speak different languages, learn about their cultures. But don’t close yourself just to internationals. Be open-minded.
