Lauren is a Junior from Colleyville, Texas, majoring in electrical engineering.
On campus, she lives in McGlinn Hall. Of McGlinn she says, “McGlinn has the closest and kindest community. McG never quits and for that reason we stick together and have a blast no matter what is going on.”
She is involved with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a recruitment and visitation intern. She is also involved with the Society of Women Engineers, IEEE, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Club of Notre Dame, F1, Native American Initiatives at Notre Dame. She is also involved with Wireless Institute REU in GaN transistors research on campus.
Lauren’s favorite Notre Dame tradition is that of not stepping on the grass on God quad—that is, if you want to pass your theology classes, as superstition would have it.
Among other things, you can ask Lauren about what it’s like in engineering as a woman, how to transition to Notre Dame from very far away, and how the dining hall is on campus!
