Lyric is a Junior from Honolulu, Hawai’i, majoring in English and film, television, and theater and minoring in journalism.

On campus, she lives in Badin Hall. Of Badin she says, “Home of the Bullfrogs, Badin Hall welcomes its tadpoles with open arms. We all truly look out for each other and help in any way that we can. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, my home is very far away. However, it does not feel as if I am that far, as I now have a second family in my home under the Dome in Badin Hall. From the lovely hall staff, to the kind residents, we all deeply care for one another.”

She is involved on campus as a press and marketing sales intern, an admissions recruitment and visit intern, a creator and anchor of “ND Sunrise,” Notre Dame’s First Morning News Show, a spokeswoman for Notre Dame Admissions YouTube, a board member of Notre Dame Pre-Law Board, a Notre Dame Stadium host, a news editor for NDTV, an assistant digital editor for Scholastic Magazine, a news writer for The Observer, the vice president of Badin Hall, a tour guide, and a Badin Hall Spirit head commissioner.

She is also involved with the Gold & Blue Company (select singing group), is a panelist for Notre Dame Alumni Association Leadership Conference, and a host and performer for ND DAY. She holds lead roles in theatrical productions, is a Campus Ministry leader, the Hawaii Club Secretary, the President of Badin Book Club, a Badin Hall Mass speaker and singer, and is a Welcome Weekend ambassador.

Lyric is also involved with research on campus with the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study, the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program, and she provides research training for up to 10 Notre Dame undergraduates each year.

Lyric’s favorite Notre Dame tradition is the singing of the Alma Mater after a home football game. She says, “This feeling is something that only Notre Dame students or alumni can describe. The great pride, and unity all the members of the Notre Dame family feel is truly magnificent.”

Among other things, you can ask Lyric about coming from a warm place, what it is like to find a good group of friends, dorm life, performing arts opportunities, media opportunities such as NDTV on campus, internships, research, or any other extracurricular activity!
