While most of campus packed their bags and went home for the break, those who chose to stay behind were able to attend a Thanksgiving dinner of their own at the newly renovated North Dining Hall last Thursday. The University treated students, as well as families in the surrounding area, to an extensive buffet including roast carved turkey and pumpkin pie, along with many updates on traditional favorites. The dining hall was adorned with fall-style d├ęcor, which, along with the ample lighting, provided a homely atmosphere for everyone in attendance. The tables quickly filled as guests filtered in, and soon the eating area was filled with a cheery buzz as the excellent dining hall staff worked hard to make sure everyone enjoyed their meal. For those students who are not able to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families at home each year, the University reminds us that every student is part of a special second family here at Notre Dame.
