Toptentuesdays

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesdays! This series will focus on different top tens relevant to the world of college. Each week a different intern will share their top ten list. Additionally, look out on social media for video vlogs that may go along with the list. This week the theme is dorm necessities. Lulu Romero provided her top ten items needed to survive living away from home at Notre Dame!

Dorm Necessities

  1. Fan (or three) - Especially if your dorm doesn’t have AC.
  2. Coffee bar - this includes a coffee maker, types of coffee pods, flavors, milk, cups, straws, mugs, etc. Whatever is needed to make your coffee your own way.
  3. 10 ft phone charger - imagine being in your lofted bed and your charger not reaching your bed. Tragic.
  4. Comfy rug - my personal rec: pottery barn shag rug #notsponsored. But for real, you’ll live sitting on the floor when you’re too lazy to climb into your lofted bed. The rug is also where your friends will come to hang and chat with you.
  5. Mattress topper - For your sanity and sleep, do not sleep on the plain mattress that is provided.
  6. Shower shoes - No one wants an infection of such sorts.
  7. Seat cushion for your desk - those chairs are NOT comfy and you’ll be sitting on them often while studying or doing homework. Buying a little pillow for them is a game changer.
  8. Speaker - for all those late night dance parties or to vibe with friends while getting ready for game day.
  9. Snacks - for studying or just in between class.
  10. Photos from home - you don’t admit it now, but you will definitely miss your friends, family, and everyone from back home so bring a couple of pictures for you to look at when feeling down.
