Hi everyone! My name is Hailey Oppenlander, and I am one of the New Media Interns this year!
A little about me - I am a sophomore majoring in American Studies and Sociology in the Glynn Family Honors Program (big Arts and Letters gal!), and I'm from a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. On-campus, I love to sing with my Christian a cappella group, Unchained Melodies, perform with DanceCo, and advise low-income high school students applying to college through Matriculate. I'm also a Spirituality Co-Commissioner for my dorm, Badin, and will be helping a sociology professor with research this year!
In the negative amount of free time I have, I enjoy spending late nights with friends in LaFun, looking at pictures of adorable baby pugs on the Internet, drinking way too much Diet Coke, and having dance party study breaks at 2 a.m. - which you need a LOT of in college.
Notre Dame was my dream school, and even after one year, passing by the Dome never gets old! When I was in high school, I loved reading the student blogs and watching the ND Admissions' Snapchat to learn more about student life at ND. Here I am now, getting to blog about my own #NDJourney and watching things come full circle *cue warm and fuzzy feelings*. I can't wait to share my sophomore year with you guys!
