Academic Resources at Notre Dame

Discover how Notre Dame empowers students to excel from day one by exploring the comprehensive support systems within Undergraduate Education and the Hesburgh Libraries. This session introduces the new Center for Academic Transformation and Excellence (CATE)—a central hub for holistic academic mentoring and peer learning—alongside the world-class research tools, subject librarians, and collaborative spaces available through the library system. Featured speakers include individuals from the Hesburgh Library: Tara Kenjockety, Mark Robison, Margaret Meserve, Gregory Bond, Matthew Knight, and Adam Heet, as well as Kati Schuler from the Notre Dame Center for STEM Education and Katherine Mahon from the Flatley Center for Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement.

Career Development and Alumni Connections

One aspect that sets Notre Dame apart from many other universities is the lifelong loyalty and support of its alumni. This panel discussion features Dolly Duffy, the executive director of the Notre Dame Alumni Association and vice president of university relations, and Ryan Willerton, the associate vice president for career and professional development at the Meruelo Family Center for Career Development. They will discuss their initiatives that facilitate the connection between alumni and students for support in internships, networking, and job opportunities and the national and global alumni club network.

International Student Support and Services

This session will specifically focus on the international student experience at Notre Dame and the support services available. Questions surrounding visas, adapting to U.S. education, cultural celebrations, career advising for non-U.S. citizens, and resources for navigating challenges while in the U.S. will be discussed. This session will be led by Tyler Grant, assistant director and career advisor for global affairs, architecture, and international students, and Leah Zimmer, executive director of International Student and Scholar Affairs; current Notre Dame international students will also share their experiences.
Nourishing Your Spirituality

There are many ways to explore your spiritual life at Notre Dame! Join us as student leaders from various faith backgrounds discuss experiences exploring their spirituality and supporting their well-being on campus. This session will be led by Mike Buckler and Tami Schmitz from Campus Ministry.
Residential Life and Growing in Community

College is a time of exploration and self-discovery for students. Learn about the intentional ways in which Notre Dame fosters living, learning, and thriving in community. Speakers include Director of Residential Life: Residential Education, Breyan Tornifolio, and Wilsey Family College Professor of Theology and Faculty Director of the Moreau Program, William Mattison.
Student Wellness and Accessibility

Notre Dame offers extensive, individualized care to ensure academic and social success both in and outside the classroom. Comprised of both the Care and Wellness Consultants and the Sara Bea Center for Student Accessibility Services, the primary goal of the center is to serve as a resource and advocate for students with a variety of needs. This session is hosted by Chris Conway, director of the University Counseling Center, Diana Custer, director of University Health Services, Sarah Besse, director of the McDonald Center for Student Well-being, and Brent Fragnoli, care and wellness consultant.

This session, led by Director of the McDonald Center for Student Well-Being, Sarah Besse, and Care and Wellness Consultant, Brent Fragnoli, provides an overview of our holistic care network, including medical care through University Health Services, mental health support at the University Counseling Center, and proactive wellness programming from McDonald Center for Student Well-Being. Join us to discover how our campus resources, restorative spaces, and dedicated professionals work together to prioritize your physical and emotional well-being.
Study Abroad and Global Opportunities

Our Notre Dame education can take you far beyond campus! This session will feature Notre Dame Study Abroad staff: Natalie Gilbert, Kayla Laureano, and James Keating, who will outline opportunities for studying abroad, international internships, engaging in global service opportunities, and building up language proficiencies. They are joined by the Institute for Social Concern's Program Director, Felicia Johnson O'Brien, and Director of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Teaching Professor of Spanish, Keith Schaefer. Notre Dame students will also share their own experiences.
Undergraduate Research and Fellowships

Notre Dame students have great opportunities to engage in research and pursue fellowships. Senior Director of Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement (CUSE); Paul and Maureen Stefanick Director of CUSE, Jeffrey Thibert, will introduce the Flatley Center for Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement, and current Notre Dame students will share information about their recent scholarly pursuits.
