Mendoza College of Business Transfer Requirements
Transfer students can only be admitted to the Mendoza College of Business as first-semester sophomores. Students are admitted into the College, not a specific major, and no major is guaranteed.
The following majors are traditionally not open to transfer students:
- Business Analytics
Appropriate course selection is one of the most important factors in presenting a strong transfer application.
In addition to making progress in the University's Core Curriculum, the Mendoza College of Business requires the following courses be completed in the first year of coursework*:
- Mathematics: Two courses (must complete Calculus I and Statistics for Business)
- Economics: Introduction to Microeconomics
- English Composition
*Credit by examination can be used to satisfy the Mathematics and Economics requirements based on Notre Dame’s advanced credit and placement policies.
For more information about the individual departments within the Mendoza College of Business, please refer to the College's list of majors and programs.
Students who have completed first-year coursework that closely mirrors Notre Dame's first-year coursework will be more competitive in the transfer admissions process. Please be aware that the Mendoza College of Business does not favor substituting sophomore courses for those required in the first year.
